USDA Update on the Newly Issued Guidance

According to the USDA; agriculture, food, and related industries contribute around 5.2% to the U.S. GDP and account for 10.9% of total U.S. employment. Direct on-farm employment accounts for approximately 2.6 million jobs or 1.3% of U.S. employment. Those are the people feeding our families around the nation.

The Agriculture business is broad and requires different degrees of labor-intensity. Producing corn doesn’t require much human labor compared to cattle finishing which relies less on heavy machinery. It is the High Choice Feeders team who takes care of the cattle, repairs machinery, maintains facilities, fulfills administrative tasks and makes every-day business decisions.

Whatever control over production you have at your farm, it is achieved through people, whether they are in production, supervisory, administrative or management positions. How these individuals are selected and managed makes all the difference.” Gregorio Billikopf

Research shows the best employees in the Ag business can be several times more productive than new, badly-trained or unmotivated employees which is why having an experienced, professional and committed team is crucial for our operations – especially considering the challenging working conditions within and outside of our facilities. We make sure every employee has a voice to openly share issues and opportunities no matter the hierarchy. Empowering team members to pro-actively solve problems is another priority. Communication is truly key at High Choice Feeders.

That’s why we care about and appreciate every single one of our team members. Thank you so much for your commitment and passion!
