USDA Update on the Newly Issued Guidance

Have you heard about the USDA issuing new guidance on the Packers and Stockyards Act? Well, if not, here is all the key information you need to know: New rules are being put into place to help make the marketplace fairer to farmers and ranchers. The new rule is on “Undue and Unreasonable Preferences and Advantages”. As explained by the Federal Register, this is a final rule establishing, “a new regulation containing criteria the Secretary of Agriculture will consider when determining whether an undue or unreasonable preference or advantage has occurred in violation of the Packers and Stockyards Act, 1921 (ACT).”

What does this act protect?
