Meet Andrew Scott

It takes experts from a variety of different disciplines to run a successful business. At High Choice Feeders, that means we have top cattle experts out in the yards. In our offices, we have experts in other areas of the cattle business, such as our new Chief Financial Officer, Andrew Scott. 

Before joining High Choice Feeders, Andrew worked for seven years at a public accounting firm, Plante Moran. In addition to his experience in audit and assurance, Andrew has an education that includes a CPA and a Master’s Degree in Accounting Science from the University of Illinois.

High Choice Feeders is a transition back to the cattle business for Andrew. “My family has been in the cattle business for over 150 years, which is something I’m deeply proud of,” Andrew says. “Sustainable beef production is fundamentally important to support our growing population, and I believe beef is integral to a balanced and nutritious diet. It’s fascinating how effectively cattle convert human-inedible plants to high quality protein, healthy fats, and essential nutrients. To me, cattle feeding is as important to our future as it is our heritage.”

Andrew fits right in at High Choice Feeders. “We operate with a level of cohesion, teamwork, and communication that makes High Choice stand out amongst its peers,” he says. “We share a passion for what we do, which shows up not only in the workplace, but in our product.” That means maximizing performance while preserving the welfare of the animal and exceeding industry standards. “We fundamentally believe that quality is the biggest driver of value, and I think that principle underpins everything we do,” he adds.

When Andrew’s not at work, he and his family love to golf and go out to play as a family as often as they can. They love trying new restaurants and also enjoy relaxing at Andrew’s parents’ house in front of a bonfire. They love the outdoors and are always looking for new places to go hiking. Andrew is also a fan of Illini football and basketball, and the Chicago Bears and Bulls.
